Michael T. Lacey who was born on the 26th of September 1959 is a mathematician in America. He got his Ph.D. in the year 1987 at the University of Illinois under Walter Phillip’s direction. He majored on Banach space probability, and he also solved problems relating to the iterated logarithm law for functions of empirical characteristic. As years passed, Michael T Lacey’s works have covered areas of ergodic theory, probability, and of great importance, harmonic analysis. The North Carolina University at Chapel Hill and the State University of Louisiana were the first places Michael got his postdoctoral positions. Walter Phillip and Michael Lacey proved the almost certain central limit theory.
While at the University of Indiana, Michael T Lacey was in charge of a position from the year 1989 up to 1996. And he also got a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship (NSFPF). Michael began research on Bilinear Hilbert Transform at the Fellowship’s tenure.
Michael became a professor of mathematics in the year 1996 at the Institute of Technology Georgia. He got a Guggenheim fellowship in the year 2004 for a collaboration with Li Xiaochun. Also in the year 2012, Michael became a member of the Mathematical Society of America.
Michael Lacey has also carried out a lot of researchers that got support from the National Science Foundation. Support for research has also been gotten from Salem Prize, Fulbright Foundation Simons Foundation, Guggenheim Foundation and so many other institutes of mathematics research.
During his stay at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Michael T Lacey made a lot of positive impacts on the lives of the students he lectured. And there a lot of recommendations from his students about the way he teaches, his strategies and teaching techniques. Here is what one of Michael T Lacey’s students has to say about him:
“I want to appreciate you for the motivation, help, and guidance you have given me, and also for some recommendations you’ve written on my behalf. I have a lot to be grateful for, and without you, I wouldn’t have been able to get this award.”
He is indeed an inspiration.
